FELTONVILLE (WPVI) -- Police are trying to determine if a hit-and-run victim is the same person who robbed a food delivery man in Philadelphia's Feltonville section.

"He said, 'Give me your money, give me your money.' The short guy asked him," said Muhammad Aly, through a translator.

Aly, a food delivery man, says he was robbed by two men just after midnight Sunday on the 4700 block of Tampa Street.

He said they had what looked like a real gun and one was wearing a ski mask.

"He was shocked. It was the first time for him - it's the first robbery," said the translator.

Aly says the robbers took off on Wyoming Avenue toward Whitaker Avenue.

Near that same time, Philadelphia police say a red Ford F350 travelling southbound on Whitaker slammed into a man at Wyoming Avenue.

He was running across the street and thrown several feet. The driver kept going.

Nearby bar employee Natacha Rios ran out to help.

"He was breathing, his eyes were open and he was moving a little but he was seriously hurt," said Rios.

While police were investigating, sources say they discovered what appeared to be a BB gun or starter pistol underneath a nearby vehicle along with a ski mask and gloves.

Now investigators are trying to figure out if their hit-and-run victim is the suspected robber.

The man was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, 64-year-old Aly, who works for Takka Grill, lost $500. He says he's not sure what to think after the terrifying incident.

Authorities are scouring the area for surveillance video and they are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.

Anyone with information is urged contact police.
