Police are trying to determine if robbery was the motive behind a double shooting in Philadelphia West Oak Lane section late Friday night.

WEST OAK LANE (WPVI) -- Police say two men were shot and wounded during an attempted robbery in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane section late Friday night.

A 43-year-old male victim and a 54-year-old male witness were walking on the 7100 block of 19th Street.

According to police, the two men were approached by two male suspects.

One of suspects demanded money and approached the victim and started going through his pockets.

The victim then grabbed the suspect and pushed him in between himself and a second suspect who was armed with a gun.

Police say, the witness then ran and fell. He suffered abrasions from the fall.

The second suspect, police say fired his gun, striking the victim in the right arm and the first suspect was also struck.

The victim and the witness then fled the scene on foot.

Officers arrived on 19th Street to find one of the suspects, identified as 22-year-old Isiah Bebee from the the 6900 block of Ogontz Avenue.

Bebee was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his legs.

He was taken to Einstein Medical Center for surgery and listed in critical but stable condition.

The victim and witness were also taken to Einstein. The witness was treated and released.

The victim is stable but was admitted because of his injuries.

Police surveyed the area, and observed a 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo, exiting the rear driveway of 1800 Dallas.

The officers stopped the vehicle and observed that the passenger fit the flash that was provided.

He was positively identified as the second suspect and shooter, 21-year-old Antoine Hardy of the 400 block of Devereaux Avenue.

Both males are charged with attempt robbery, theft, aggravated assault, simple Assault, and related offenses.

The victim and witness names have not been released.
