FERN ROCK (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police are on the hunt for a gunman who carjacked and robbed a man in the city's Fern Rock neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the 24 year-old male victim was at a Shell gas station on the 6200 block of North Broad Street when he was approached by an unknown male asking for a ride.
The suspect sat in the backseat of the victim's car and pulled out a handgun.
The victim and a passenger in the front seat ran away and called police.
The suspect then fled in the man's car - a white 2014 Toyota Corolla with Pennsylvania tag #JNR3637 and a VIN number ending in 10262.
He was last seen driving west on Stenton Avenue from Broad Street.
Police describe the suspect as a black male, 20-30 years-old, 6'0-6'2 tall with a medium build, short hair, trimmed beard and mustache and a tattoo under his eye (possibly of a teardrop). He was wearing a black/orange Flyers jersey with #28 on the back and the name "Giroux", dark colored pants, brown boots and armed with a handgun.
