A Philadelphia police officer who was responding to a call for help from a fellow officer is recovering after a crash in West Philadelphia.

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia police officer who was responding to a call for help from a fellow officer is recovering after a crash in West Philadelphia.

Police say the responding officer's cruiser collided with a car at 2 a.m. Saturday at 52nd and Wyalusing streets.

The 16th District officer was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment and is expected to be okay.

The driver of the other vehicle was not seriously injured.

Action News is told the officer who originally called for help was dealing with an armed man.
