VIDEO: Police: 'Incident' not linked to attack
Police say a 'suspicious incident' in Tredyffrin Township is not connected to an attempted sexual assault.

TREDYFFRIN TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Police say a 'suspicious incident' in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County is not connected to an attempted sexual assault of a jogger that occurred in the same area back in May.

The latest incident happened around 8:30 a.m. Monday near a tunnel on the trail connecting the Evolve Business Park to the Treyburn housing development at the intersection of Old Eagle School Road and Devon Park Drive.

A woman tells police she was walking her dogs when she noticed a man on a grey-colored mountain bike watching her.

"After watching him watch her, she decided to exit the trail, go through the woods a little bit and then come out in the development itself," Tredyffrin Police Detective Sgt. Todd Bereda said.

Police say the man followed the woman briefly as she left the trail.

However, police said, no attack occurred.

"No words were spoken. No assault took place. It was suspicious activity," Bereda said.

Detectives soon located a bicyclist fitting the description provided by the caller.

Police say the bicyclist is not believed to be connected to the May 12th attempted sexual assault in the same area.

The female victim in that incident fought back and was able to break free.

At the time, investigators said the male suspect had a six inch scar with stitching on one calf.
