Prayer cross to commemorate papal visit

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- World Meeting of Families organizer unveiled a large cross that will be used during the Catholic gathering here later this month.

This is the 10 foot tall Mercy Prayer cross.

It was designed and handcrafted by staff and students here at Mercy Vocational High School in North Philadelphia.

Young people from around the world will write notes of love and petitions to Jesus that will then be adhered to the sides of the cross during the youth congress.

After the Papal visit, the Mercy Prayer Cross will be permanently placed on the school's campus.
