Route 113 has reopened after a purple substance led to a hazmat situation in Chester Springs, Chester Springs.

CHESTER SPRINGS, Pa. (WPVI) -- Route 113 has reopened after a purple substance led to a hazmat situation in Chester Springs, Chester Springs.

It was around 12:21 p.m. Friday when the Kimberton Fire Department responded to the scene between Kimberton and Pickering roads.

Chester County officials say bottles fell off the back of a truck, spilling a purple liquid onto the roadway.

Authorities say the substance was a coloring agent and not toxic.

Officials say they don't believe it's anything major at this time.

Route 113 was shutdown between Kimberton and Pickering roads but reopened around 4:00 p.m.
