Report: Chester Co. student found dead in MIT dorm

A sophomore student from Chester County was found dead in her dorm room at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Tuesday, ABC affiliate WCVB-TV reports.

The death of Phoebe Wang, of Chesterbrook, was announced in a message to the MIT community, according to WCVB.

Wang was a student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering

WCVB posted part of an email from MIT President L. Rafael Reif that read "The death of a young person is always a shock, and in recent months we have lost too many of our cherished students and dear friends."

Sources told the station the death did not appear to be suspicious.

WCVB also said there was no immediate comment from the local district attorney's office.
