WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A Delaware school district announced its new mascot Wednesday, putting an end to the controversy over its old one.

The Red Clay School District unveiled the Conrad Red Wolves, the new mascot for the Conrad School of Science.

Students selected the Red Wolves after the board voted last year to do away with the high school's Redskins mascot.

Though they'll start using the name immediately, the formal change goes into effect at the start of the next school year.
