Several people were displaced and a church suffered damaged after a fire in Wilmington.

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Several people were displaced and a church suffered damaged after a fire in Wilmington.

It happened around 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Lancaster Avenue.

Smoke was reported coming from the building upon arrival.

The Cathedral of Jesus Christ church is on the first floor and there are apartments above it on the second floor.

Authorities say five people were displaced from the apartments and the church suffered smoke damage.

No injuries were reported.

Fire crews were able to bring the fire under control within an hour. No word yet what sparked the blaze.
