Police are trying to determine if a 19-year-old shot and killed early Tuesday in North Philadelphia was hit by a stray bullet.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 19-year-old man was gunned down on a North Philadelphia street, and police say he may not have been the intended target.

It happened before 11:00 p.m. Monday in the 2100 block of North 30th Street.

Officers arrived to find the victim lying in the street. They rushed him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators found seven spent shell casings at the scene.

They say just one of those shots struck the victim, and that the shot was fired from far away.

They are trying to determine if the deadly shot may have been a stray bullet.

Surveillance cameras recorded two men fleeing south on 31st Street after the shots were fired.

There have been no arrests.
