NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have identified the man shot and killed in North Philadelphia late Wednesday night.

It happened in the 2900 block of Germantown Avenue before 11 p.m. Wednesday.

25th District officers found find 46-year-old George Lopez lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he died a short time later.

When officers first arrived on the scene, they spotted a 23-year-old man with a gun running away.
