Suspect sought for attempted bank robbery in the city's Fishtown section.

FISHTOWN (WPVI) -- Police and FBI need your help in identifying a suspect who attempted to rob a bank in the Fishtown section.

It happened on July 7 around 1:15 p.m. at the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union located at 2136 East Dauphin Street.

Police say the suspect entered the bank and handed a teller a threatening note.

He eventually fled the bank without receiving any money.

The suspect was last seen heading north on Trenton Street toward York Street.

Authorities say he is considered armed and dangerous.

He is described as a white male, 25 to 30 years old, 5'6"-5'7" tall, slim build, with close-cut dark hair.

He was wearing black aviator sunglasses, dark gray or black t-shirt, gray cargo shorts, and black sneakers.

Anyone with information about this attempted robbery or the suspect is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police.
