Suspect sought in 2 grocery store robberies in Southwest Philadelphia

Police are looking for a suspect who robbed 2 grocery stores in Southwest Philadelphia at gunpoint.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are looking for a suspect who robbed two Southwest Philadelphia grocery stores at gunpoint Monday night.

It happened at 9 p.m. inside the S&P Grocery Store located on the 6000 block of Kingsessing Avenue.

Surveillance video from the scene shows the female suspect entering the store and pointing a handgun at a clerk behind the counter.

She got away with an unknown amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

A short time after, the same suspect also robbed the Angela Grocery Store on the 5700 block of Chester Avenue.

Police describe the suspect as a black female, 40 years-old, short with a thin build. She was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
