PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with at least three burglaries in South Philadelphia.

The first incident happened on May 1 in the Bella Vista neighborhood.

The thief was caught on surveillance trying for 20 minutes to break into the Cellular Inc. store on the 600 block of Washington Avenue.

After kicking in the rear door, he rummaged through the store and stole several cell phones before fleeing the scene.

The next morning, surveillance cameras caught the burglar breaking into City Pizza on the 2700 block of South 16th Street in South Philadelphia.

He broke the glass on the front door and got away with just a few dollars in change, a soda and a bag of chips.

"There's no need for it. The guy is going to spend more time in jail for breaking in store and getting pennies than what's its worth," said Chris Pacitti of City Pizza.

Police say the same man stuck again on May 11 inside Sarcone's Bakery on the 700 block of South 9th Street.

This time be spent several minutes trying to open the front door before breaking the glass and climbing in.

He tried several times unsuccessfully to open the cash register but eventually fled empty handed.

Linda Sarcone said it was the first break-in the store has had in 97 years. She added it's an inconvenience replacing the glass door.

She added it was "All for nothing. He didn't even steal a cookie."
