SUV crashes into Center City building, driver injured

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A driver is injured after crashing into a building in Center City.

The accident happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at 9th and Chestnut streets.

Police say the driver struck a curb, went onto the sidewalk, and then struck the building.

The driver had to be rescued from the SUV.

Medics transported the victim to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.

It is not yet known why the driver lost control.
