VIDEO: The rush is on for last-minute shoppers
The damp weather did not stop last minute shoppers from heading to the malls.

The mad rush is on for shoppers who haven't finished their holiday shopping lists, or heaven help the ones who are just starting to shop.

Debbie Morgante of Hamilton, New Jersey tells us, "I'm retiring in a couple days so I had to work until the very end, so here I am now. Now I'm finishing my shopping. I'm spending all my money."

Debbie was among the crowds at the Quakerbridge Mall on Tuesday, weighted down with bags of gifts and feeling the pressure of last minute shopping.

Brandon Taylor of Princeton says, "This semester was really rough so I ended up not having as much time as I would have liked. So this year I'm pretty last minute I'd say."

Those last-minute shoppers are filling the stores. You'd think they're giving things away. And with some of the sales they almost are!

Hamilton resident Pam Persichilli tells us, "The deals are awesome. The coupons are great. And I'm just tying up all the loose ends."

And Phil Murray of Allentown says, "I'm one of the few men that will actually go out shopping with a list. I have a list... We're doing good - a lot of check marks. It's looking pretty good."

Some stores like this Kohl's in West Windsor are staying open all night. So the hardiest can go shopping while the rest of us sleep.

Martha Hollowell of Princeton says, "I have done that before and it's nice 'cause it's not real crowded and you get a lot done."

And Nicole Hendrickson of Hamilton says, "Working, and tomorrow too, and I still have to go home and wrap. So it's fun."

Back at the mall the mad rush continues to get all the presents bought, wrapped and under the tree in time.

"I'm a last-minute guy," says Mark Mahoney of Groveville. "Yeah I'm better under pressure."

Patsy Chambers of Trenton says, "I'm getting done what I need to get done. Last minute shopping and I'm so glad I got everything I needed so now I can go home and relax."

Santa's advice to procrastinators?

Santa Claus tells Action News, "Well I think it's a good idea to start doing the rest of the shopping right now because the time is getting slower and slower and tomorrow night is the big night. I get out there on the sled and there I go. Ho ho ho."
