Traffic detour in Ambler due to water line repairs

AMBLER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Work to replace a water line has detoured traffic along Butler Pike in Ambler, Montgomery County.

Butler Pike is closed between Main and Spring Garden streets and all drivers are being detoured around the closure.

Officials say they were first notified a few days ago of leaking water service in the area.

Crews are working to replace the line before the issue becomes more serious.

Work is expected to continue until about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday which means that residents in the area could be without water service until then.

No word what caused the leak.
