State police trooper freed from cruiser after crash on I-95

TINICUM TWP, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was involved an accident in Tinicum Township, Delaware County.

The accident occurred around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes of I-95 in the area of Bartram Avenue.

Rescuers had to extricate the trooper from his cruiser.

The trooper was transported to Crozer Chester Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic is backed up approaching the scene.
