VIDEO: TroubleShooters: Wedding videos edited, leaky roof fixed
A newlywed finally sees her wedding video with the help and generosity of our viewers plus a pair of tenants got their leaky roof fixed - thanks to Action News TroubleShooters.

The renters of a two-bedroom apartment say water poured into one of their bedrooms and their landlord just didn't seem to care.

"There were buckets, we had tarps," said Collen Kerwick.

Colleen Kerwick and her brother Chris say the roof over Chris' room leaked and water damaged his belongings four different times.

"The office's response was pretty much - 'That's what you have renter's insurance for," said Colleen.

So the Kerwicks contacted the Action News TroubleShooters.

"Oh! Things changed a little bit when Nydia got involved," said Colleen.

The Kerwicks tell Action News the entire roof is now repaired and they got a $500 rent credit.

"We're very grateful and that's why we're here today. To the TroubleShooters - definitely reach out and try to get that support, I think it really makes a difference," said Colleen.

Action News TroubleShooters is making a difference in more ways than one.

Back in August, several couples called desperate to get their wedding videos. Their videographer had closed up shop and taken their precious memories with him.

After the Action News TroubleShooters got on the case, the videographer sent the Mendez family and 26 other couples their videos but they were un-edited and on a format most couples couldn't even view.

And that's when our Action News viewers stepped in.

After our story aired, we received a number of calls, emails and Facebook posts from you - offering to edit the videos.

"Once I saw the piece, I spoke to my wife and we always said, 'I need to do something - I need to help out,'" said Sean MacGregor.

And help out he did. MacGregor of SPM Memories found Stacie Mendez through the Action News Facebook page.

Then he turned the raw video into something truly wonderful - all for free.

"I get excited every time I watch it. I can't help it. His creativity. I was just amazed - amazed. He made me believe there are still good people out there - out of nowhere, from social media; just comes out of nowhere," said Mendez.

Our sincere thanks to MacGregor and all the other editors who helped.

MacGregor says he'll edit more videos for affected couples. Those couples can contact him at SPMmemories@gmail.com or at www.facebook.com/SPMmemories
