Police have charged the wife of a man who was left critically injured after being stabbed several times in Montgomery County.

LANSDALE, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police have charged the wife of a man who was left critically injured after being stabbed several times in Montgomery County.

Michelle Everett, 43, is behind bars for the crime.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday outside a home along Acorn Street near Towamencin Avenue in Lansdale.

Investigators say Everett stabbed her husband in the shower, then stabbed him again when he tried to run.

Police arrived to find three young children in an upstairs bedroom, and the wife hiding in the basement.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with multiple stab wounds.

Everett is charged with attempted murder.
