A driver is facing DUI charges after an accident in Port Richmond.

PORT RICHMOND (WPVI) -- A car crashed into a utility pole and then a gas station in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.

Police say this is a suspected DUI case.

The accident occurred around 8:00 p.m. Monday at Castor Avenue and Richmond Street.

Witnesses tell Action News the car hit a utility pole then struck a gas station pump at the Sunoco station.

Witnesses say there was an explosion when the utility pole split in half.

Three people in the car, an 18-year-old woman, 15-year-old, and 22-year-old woman, were injured.

All are expected to recover.

One of the three was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

The owner of the gas stations said that when the vehicle hit the pump, the sensor immediately shut off gas to the pump.
