PORT RICHMOND (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police are on the hunt for a man who stabbed a 32-year-old woman in Port Richmond.

Police say the suspect attacked her at 2 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 2000 block of Castor Avenue.

Police received several calls about a woman screaming.

Officers arrived to find a woman stabbed in the chest and the head.

They rushed her to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

Police later surrounded a home in the 1900 block of East Pacific Avenue, thinking the suspect was inside.

But when police entered that home, the suspect was not there.

The search for him continues.
