The woman shot by her husband in their Delaware Co. home has died.

GLENOLDEN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities say a woman has died of her wounds after allegedly being shot by her husband inside their Delaware County home.

The shooting happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on the 600 block of West Ashland Avenue in Glenolden, Pennsylvania.

The Delaware County District Attorney's Office tells Action News that 66-year-old Richard Piroli shot his wife, 66-year-old Carol Ann Piroli, several times in the head and then turned the weapon on himself - shooting himself once in the chest.

Carol Ann Piroli was rushed to Crozer Chester Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries later in the day.

Richard Piroli was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the incident is underway.
