Woman killed in head-on collision on I-476

PLYMOUTH TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A woman was killed when the vehicle she was driving collided head-on with a box truck on I-476 in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County.

The crash happened around 2:00 a.m. Friday on I-476 north at mile marked 17.3.

Police say 22-year-old Amelia Caglia was driving a Toyota sedan when, for reasons unknown, she made a U-turn and began travelling south in the northbound center lane.

At that time a box truck was also travelling in the center lane and both vehicles collided head-on.

Caglia was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the box truck, 50-year-old Kenneth Wallen, was taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation.
