FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- Police say a woman is recovering after a shooting in Frankford that left nearly a dozen bullet holes in a minivan.

It happened at 12 a.m. Monday at Wakeling and Saul streets.

When police first arrived at the scene, they found only the minivan.

The 22-year-old shooting victim had somehow gotten herself to the hospital. She had been shot twice in the leg.

The woman told police she and a male friend were sitting in the minivan when a suspect appeared from an alley and opened fire.

The woman's male friend has not turned up. Police believe he may be shot as well.

Officers found marijuana in the van, but have not said if drugs were the motive for the shooting.

The investigation continues.
