COCOA, FL. (WPVI) -- A police officer in Cocoa, Florida took a hands-on approach to capturing a baby alligator found at a local high school.
According to video shared on the Cocoa Police Department Facebook page, Officer Xzevies Baez rescued the baby alligator from a flooded yard at Cocoa High School after receiving a call from someone at the school.
The clip shows Baez patiently wading in ankle-deep water as he slowly approaches the gator before catching it.
The baby alligator was then relocated to a "bigger, safer pond."
