In this week's Shelter Me, Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA has found homes for over 100 animals.

In this week's winning rescue group in the Shelter Me Contest is Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.

Bridget Barder, Manager of Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA says, "Our mission is to take in the unwanted the abused the abandoned and neglected..."

Within the past year the rescue group has found homes for over 100 those animals...

"It's very gratifying, very gratifying knowing that we're helping the helpless," said Bridget.

Helping with the cause is Rocket, the official mascot at SPCA.

Rocket was named after NASCAR Driver, Ryan Newman!

Jim McKeone, President of Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA says, "He goes everywhere and raises money for us. He's a crippled dog. He was hit by a car when he was 10-months-old and he has a wheel chair now."

All the money raised goes into 'The Rocket Fund.'

"All the money that he gets in there goes to vet bills to save all the animals," said Jim.
