Bride-to-be wants bridesmaids to carry corgis instead of bouquets

Typically bridesmaids carry bouquets of flowers, but one bride-to-be wants to break the tradition - with corgis.

Lauren Koval, of Medford, Massachusetts, posted an ad on Craigslist seeking "six more corgis" for her bridesmaids to carry down the aisle. The ad reads:

This next April, I will be getting married to the man of my dreams and we will be having the most wonderful storybook wedding that Allentown, PA has ever seen. The icing on the cake is sweet, but there's one thing that would be even sweeter than that. Traditionally, bridesmaids' hold bouquets; in our wedding, I want them to hold corgis.

Unfortunately, I do not have enough corgis for my bridesmaids. I require six more in order to make this dream come true. I'm looking to rent six corgis for roughly two and a half hours during the ceremony. Because this is my dream wedding, price is negotiable and I appreciate your understanding. Please reach out to me if you have six sociable corgis which you would be willing to rent out. These animals would be treated perfectly, and I would love to get us all together to familiarize ourselves with each other.

In addition to pay, I would be happy to also share some cake with you.

Since posting the ad on December 3, Lauren says she has received approximately 100 responses from people offering their dogs. One of the offers she found particularly interesting was for a corgi whose grandfather was "knighted by the Queen of England."

Lauren says she has four bridesmaids but is seeking six corgis. "Four corgis for each of my bridesmaids, one for our officiant, and maybe a spare corgi, just in case."

The idea to include corgis in the wedding started as a joke, but after speaking with her fiance, she decided it might be a real possibility. Lauren said, "The internet loves corgis, I love corgis, so why don't we make this part of our best day ever?"

Lauren currently has 4 corgis reserved for her "storybook" wedding that is being held in April 2015 in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

If you would like to make a doggy donation to the corgi-tastic wedding, you can reply to Lauren's ad here.
