Some elected leaders are backing paid sick leave in Philadelphia.

Center City (WPVI) -- Some of Philadelphia's elected leaders got back-up from the state level today to protect the city's paid sick leave law.

State Senator Vincent Hughes joined several City Council members this afternoon in calling on Harrisburg to vote down a bill that would effectively undo the law.

Last week, the state senate passed that bill, which would no longer require certain Philadelphia businesses to provide workers with paid sick leave.

It now goes before the state House.

Governor Wolf has not said if he would veto the bill.
