Shooting victim dies after gunfire erupts in Frankford

FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- An overnight shooting in the Frankford section of Philadelphia has turned into a homicide investigation.

The 54-year-old victim was shot in the chest around 1 a.m. Friday.

Police on patrol responded to the sound of gunshots in 4500 block of Griscom Street.

Officers found the victim and rushed the victim to the hospital, where he died a short time later.

No one has been arrested.

The name of the victim has not been released.
