If a merchant doesn't want to give you your money back, some cards will fully refund your purchase - in most cases extending the return period by 90 days.

When it comes to cell phone replacement insurance, if you purchased your cell phone on a credit card and your warranty has expired but you've damaged your phone, you may be able to get either a refund for the device or money to repair the phone.

For extended warranties on purchases, if you use your credit card and purchased a product that is covered, your warranty could be covered for an additional 90 days.

Some cards offer some type of coverage for rental car insurance but of course remember to check out the fine print.

They may even offer roadside assistance for free.

People don't think to call their credit card when they get a flat tire, but you could also be covered.
