13 years of perfect attendance

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia high school grad has notched a special honor, perfect attendance.

Action news was with James Dudley in Northeast Philadelphia at baccalaureate services for Father Judge High.

From kindergarten through senior year, Dudley never missed a day in 13 years.

He says he occasionally wanted a day off, but his mom kept him on the straight & narrow.

Dudley insisted "I tried, but all attempts failed."

His mother recalls "i told him if you're not throwing up, you're going."

Dudley says he'll sleep after graduation.

This fall, he starts at Holy Family University, to study meteorology and teaching, hoping to become an Action News meteorologist.
