PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. (WPVI) -- Residents of three senior living facilities competed for the gold in the 34th annual Senior Games in Plymouth Meeting.

Three senior living facilities taking part - the Artman Lutheran Home, Masonic Village of Lafayette Hill and Paul's Run Retirement Home.

Some of the events included wheel chair races and a bean bag toss.

Some were more proficient at getting the bag in the box than others, but there were cheers for everyone who tried.

The same was true for the soccer challenge.

Every year residents from local retirement communities participate in the Senior Games in the hopes of winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals - and bragging rights.

"Just a question of making up your mind what you're going to do and you do it," said Captain Donald L. Baker, U.S. Navy Reservist.

At age 91, Marie Foster says she's more active than she's been in a long time.

"It's a lot of fun. I love Artman, I'm glad I came here to live," she said.

87-year-old, Phil Slosburg won several medals. He's not only a former Temple University running back, but the oldest living running back from the NFL.

"They work hard. They really get a sense of pride. They experience comradery and teamwork and come out and have a great time," said Sally Spear-Artman, Artman Lutheran Home program director.

The Artman Lutheran Home took third place in the games, Paul's Run Retirement Home came in second, and Masonic Village of Lafayette Hill took first place.
