VIDEO: Art of Aging: Be A Santa
In this week's Art of Aging, we focus on volunteers who give lonely seniors attention, respect and well-earned thanks.

In this week's Art of Aging, we focus on volunteers who give lonely seniors attention, respect and well-earned thanks.

In the Philadelphia office of "Home Instead Senior Care," the staff embraces the opportunity to "Be A Santa" for seniors who don't have family and may be too home-bound to participate in the holiday.

The deliveries are made in person, items such as blankets, slippers, robes and more.

The "Be A Santa" volunteers provide something even more important than actual presents.

Lois Hayman-El of Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly said, "The things that last throughout the year are feeling connected - feeling that there is somebody out there who is really caring about what happens to you."

Mindy Mozenter, Dir. Of Community Outreach - Home Instead Senior Care of Philadelphia added, "They are so happy to get one thing, just a tiny little bit makes someone's holiday."

Spreading joy, brings joy to the volunteers.

"We love to be in this type of project because it gets everybody motivated to work together...towards people that need a little bit extra," said Stephen Levin - Owner, Home Instead Senior Care of Philadelphia.

"...This is a labor of love, the love for the people that have given us love in the past, and it's our payback and our homage to them and it's our honor to do it," said Mindy.

We hope you also are feeling the spirit of the holiday season.
