Foulkeways at Gwynedd is a retirement community and it's founded on Quaker ideals with the mission of empowering its residents to live life to its fullest every single day.

There are more than 100 activities and services that residents of Foulkeways can choose from.

Roger Buchanan, a resident at Foulkeways at Gwynedd says, "There's almost everything you could want to do here, except horseback riding. We have shuffleboard and ping pong and billiards.,"

President of Foulkeways Residents Association, Fran Rhodes said, "We just had a Wimbledon tournament here the other day with another retirement community. We won."

There are discussion groups on everything from current events to Socrates.

"A lot of intellectual stimulation which is extremely important at this stage in our lives," said Fran.

The seniors don't just take part in the pastimes - they run them- - by committee.

Fran added, "We participate in decision making because Foulkeways is built on the Quaker idea of mutual caring and support."

Resident Association President Fran Rhodes says folks don't come here to retire, but to continue living.

"I've been a full time professional all my life and I still am a full time professional here. I get up every day and the first thing I have to think about is what is it that I need to do today," said Fran.
