PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- This year, the 6abc/Dunkin Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade is marking a big anniversary - 95 years of fun and for the 16th year in a row, Dann Cuellar takes us on a special behind the scenes preview of the big show.

Center Stage was on stage Wednesday night as they put the finishing touches on their act.

Meanwhile, the CAPA dancers one-two stepped to the funky sounds of Philadelphia all while trying to figure out ways to stay warm between performances.

"We're just doing a bunch of jumping jacks," said Samantha Nicole.

Behind the scenes, the weather played havoc with the 6abc production crew.

Yes they had their hands full but they promise that Thursday's show will go on.

What a show it will be - this year marks the 95th anniversary.

Ellis Gimble first began the parade in Philadelphia back in 1920.

What's best has been the atmosphere of the crowd, as seen in old footage from 1956.

Looking back at all the great floats, in 1932 there was Mickey Mouse. And in 1945, the parade welcomed our nation's heroes after WWII for their first Thanksgiving dinner at home in years.

"And it's just amazing to think of the history of the vision of Ellis Gimble back in 1920. Who would have ever thought that 95 years later, the original, the best and the most amazing parade would still be happening on Thanksgiving," said Todd Marcocci, parade co-producer.

And now all systems are a go for the big parade and there is one last thing to say: Happy Thanksgiving.
