PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Former NFL player Raheem Brock brightened the holidays for families in need.

Brock put on his first annual "Rolling with Raheem."

With the help of the city of Philadelphia and local celebrities, he loaded up a party bus with gifts and then went around the city surprising 12 families.

The Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police helped escort the decorated bus and also donated a full Christmas dinner to the families.

Brock grew up in Germantown and played at Temple University.

Families were glad to see him back where he started.

"I was so successful and blessed that I should give back to the city that made me; I try to positively influence the kids coming up," Brock said.

I actually had a chance to Roll around town and help surprise families for the holidays.

I presented Mrs. Hill with a gift to the spa.

She and her 8-year-old son are actually cancer survivors.

She says it's been a rough year so she appreciates the love she was shown.
