ORLANDO (WPVI) -- A new campaign is raising awareness to remind us not to judge a book by its cover.

Rethink Homelessness, a Florida-based advocacy group, is asking homeless people to enlighten the public with their Cardboard Story series.

Some homeless living on the streets in Orlando are sharing now their stories on pieces of cardboard.

One woman admitted to surrendering her kids to save them from homelessness.

Another was once a figure skater.

And a homeless man shared that he has a degree in biology from West Virginia University.

All signs are eye opening, especially the reality of one person's sign which reads: I am homeless and I do have a job.
