The postal service is celebrating Black History Month by issuing a forever stamp

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The postal service is celebrating Black History Month by issuing a forever stamp honoring the founder of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Richard Allen.

During a ceremony Tuesday at Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Philadelphia, Allen was remembered as a preacher, activist and civic leader.

The stamp's arrival coincides with the 200th anniversary of the founding of the AME Church.
