A number of odd shapes have popped up at Eakins Oval - it?s been a mystery for those passing by but Action News got a sneak peek of the new exhibit.

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- It has been a mystery for everyone passing by Eakins Oval ever since a number of odd forms started taking shape 10 days ago.

They've caused a lot of head scratching.

"I haven't even figured out what they've built over there yet. I was curious, I walked by it a couple of times a day," said John Leonard.

Now it can be revealed.

It's called 'Future Sensations,' and we got a sneak peak on Friday.

"It's the future - it kind of looks like it. It looks like a throwback from the 70s, and at the same time, the future," said Josh Ferguson.

They're not houses but they're a collection of exhibits called "Future Sensations."

"It's supposed to give us a sense of inspiration and give us reasons to believe for why it's going to be such a fantastic future.," said Dina Pokedoff, Saint Gobain.

The exhibits are designed to spark the imagination through sensory overload.

They commemorate the founding of Saint Gobain. The company was formed 350 years ago to create the hall of mirrors for Louis XIV at Versailles.

Its U.S. operations are based in Valley Forge and Philadelphia is one of the few cities worldwide to get this free exhibit.

"It started in China, it went to Brazil and now here in Philadelphia and then it will be in Paris," said Pokedoff.

You'll get to see the future firsthand when the exhibit opens at noon on Saturday. It runs through June 6th.
