The Seattle man accidentally invited to a Philadelphia bachelor party, finally flew into town where he met the bride and groom for the first time.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Fresh off the plane - Joey DiJulio is finally in Philadelphia.

DiJulio flew in town for Amy Lee and Jeff Minetti, who are engaged.

The thing is he's never met them but how they came to know each other is even more intriguing - it all started with a simple email.

Minetti was planning his bachelor party when he accidentally included DiJulio on the party chain.

"I had no idea who he was so I started reading through the email and I thought it was pretty entertaining," said DiJulio.

A friend of the groom has a similar last name - he spells his DiGiulio.

DiJulio kept receiving the emails for weeks.

But when the party planners asked for a final headcount, that's when DiJulio fessed up - admitting that he had been a fly on the internet wall.

Surprisingly, the groom invited him anyway.

"I told him to come - I even invited him to the wedding," said Minetti.

So DiJulio set up a GoFundMe page to pay for his travels from Seattle to Philadelphia.

He only needed $1,200 but he exceeded that.

"When money kept pouring and I thought 'Let's do something cool for the bride and groom.' Right now I'm above $8,000 and we're going to help them with their honeymoon," said DiJulio.

Wearing his bachelor crashing sweat shirt, DiJulio finally met the lovely couple he traveled 3,000 miles for.

They greeted him with a Philadelphia staple - Tastycakes.

The strangers are now connected by a simple mistake in an email.

"I've said it so many times - this is the City of Brotherly Love - any and all are welcome," said Minetti.

"I think it's great. We're totally looking forward to having a wonderful weekend. We can't wait to show Joey the city," said Amy Lee.

As for the thousands of dollars raised for the couple all because of a stranger?

"It's touching, it's touching," said Minetti.

The couple plans to use the money to go on a honeymoon to Italy.
