They're kicking off the second season of skating with a new attraction at the Rothman Ice Rink at Philadelphia's Dilworth Park.

The Rothman Institute Cabin is literally a few steps away from the rink, which is located next to Philadelphia City Hall.

The cabin will allow skaters to get something to eat, or have a hot chocolate to warm up, without having to take off their skates.

The Garces group will cater the food.

There are some other new things to check out this year as well.

You'll notice lights over the rink that add to the festive spirit.

And they've added some equipment to let everyone who wants to get on the ice give it a try.

"We are offering sled skating," said Michelle Shannon of the Center City District. "It's a sled they can ride in on skates."

If you've never skated and want to try, go for it!

Young experts say we spoke with say the most important tip is NOT to hold onto the boards.

"Because you're not giving yourself balance," said Emili Valeski of Schenksville, Pa. "You're holding on and not letting yourself try. So just feel weird."

"Everybody falls," said Allison Courtenay of Upper Dublin, Pa. "But if you're not falling, you're not trying."

"Keep trying," said Juliana Nelson of Chalfont, Pa. "Never give up. You'll get it."

The rink is open 7 days a week, and the cost is $3 for kids, $5 for adults and $9 to rent skates.
