Police are searching for a woman who showed them the kindness of a stranger in a very sweet way.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are on the search for a woman who showed them the kindness of stranger in a very sweet - and delicious - way.

Philadelphia Police Lieutenant Stephen Clark and fellow officers were on patrol Thursday for the Democratic National Convention when he says, "a caring woman" gave him a bag full of candy, with a written thank you note to explain.

In the note, titled 'DNC Survival Kit,' the woman described why she gave the police officers each specific type of candy.

Life Savers - B/c that is what you are!

Gum - So we can all stick together.

Tootsie Roll - Sometimes we have to roll with the punches!

Laffy Taffy - Laughter = Best Stress Reliever.

Starburst - For an extra burst of energy during these 12 hour shifts.

She closed the note by saying, "Thank you for being great! XOXO"

After Clark said 'Thank You' on Twitter, the Philadelphia Police Department went a step further.

"APB on this woman! Is it you? @PPDSteveClark wants to say thanks!!" the PPD tweeted.

So the search is on for the sweet woman who made the day of many Philadelphia officers.
