VIDEO: Local WWII vet gets birthday surprise

BROOKHAVEN, Pa. (WPVI) -- An entire community in Brookhaven, came together to give a World War II vet a special birthday surprise.

Alfred Martin couldn't believe the crowd that gathered outside of his family's home to wish him a happy birthday.

The Navy vet, who served in World War II, celebrated his 89th birthday.

Members from the American Legion, firefighters, police and veterans groups all came out to shake the hand of this member of the greatest generation.
