Restaurant Week in Center City, the Parkway celebrates its Centennial and more.

The Parkway hits the century mark and Restaurant Week comes to Center City. Here's what's on tap for this weekend in the region.

CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION FOR THE PARKWAY

The Benjamin Franklin Parkway is turning 100 years old. The centennial celebration kicks off Friday with the "Parkway 100 We Are Connected Festival." From 4-10 p.m., there will be 100 family-friendly activities throughout the Parkway Museums District, including extended hours and free or pay-what-you-wish museum admission. Parkway100

MUSHROOM FEST HITS KENNETT (FREE)

Head to the Mushroom Capital of the World to celebrate the favorite fungi. The Kennett Square Mushroom Festival runs Saturday and Sunday. The event is a mile-long and features culinary events, growing exhibits, and children's entertainment. MUSHROOM FEST

TEMPLE AND NOVA SQUARE OFF AT THE LINC

MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE FEST TAKES OVER PENN'S LANDING (FREE)

Celebrate Mexican Independence at the Great Plaza in Penn's Landing. The festival features Mexican rock bands, dancing, food, and more. It runs from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday. INDEPENDENCE FEST

RESTAURANT WEEK BRINGS GOOD EATS AT A REDUCED PRICE

Center City District Restaurant Week is back. Starting Sunday, participating restaurants will offer three-course dinners for $35, with some also serving three-course lunches for $20. Tables go fast so make your reservations in advance. RESTAURANT WEEK
