The Penn Relays have been going strong for more than a 100 years.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Penn Relays are set for this weekend. They've been going strong for more than a 100 years. And believe it or not one of the contestants this year is nearly 100 himself!

94-year-old George Scott goes by the name Scotty.

He is training for the 100-meter dash this Saturday at the Relays.

Action News caught up with the energetic phenom at Ann's Choice Fitness Center Wednesday.

His relay is for men 75 years old and up.

Scotty has already won dozens of gold medals in other competitions.

He explained to us how he stays fit.

"I play basketball twice a week that keeps me in fairly good shape and I also do a lot of dancing," Scotty said.

And to show just how serious this 94-year-old is about his sport, a video was posted on YouTube of Scotty running the hallways at his retirement center, drinking raw eggs, lifting weights and dominating the basketball court.

He is ready to go!
