A new coach means a new system and the hope is those two things will bring new results for the Flyers.

Flyers coach Dave Hakstol may be new around here, but the veterans he's had a chance to talk to quickly got him up to speed.

"There's a sour taste in the mouth of a lot of guys, that's very apparent," said Hakstol.

This week is the start of making things sweet again, as the Flyers continue their development camp.

All eyes are on top pick Ivan Provorov. The defenseman was selected 7th overall, and at 18 years old, he already believes he is NHL ready.

"He's a very impressive young man in every way - when you talk with him off the ice, when you see him on the ice - but let's be careful, let's go one step at a time. Right now we want him to do well at the development camp then he's gonna have time to go home and get ready for training camp," said Hakstol.

Hakstol has had a busy summer. He, his wife and his daughters ages 7 and 9 will move into their South Jersey home in August.

He admits it's interesting trying to adjust to the bright lights of the big city.

"It is bigger. The media attention, instead of having three or four cameras, we have a whole room full. All of those things are a matter of perspective. I know the stage that we're on here and that's one of the reasons I said it's so exciting to be a part of it," said Hakstol.
