PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Who knew? But the number one high school girls' basketball team in the entire country plays right in South Philadelphia.

That's right. The Neumann Goretti Girls Basketball team is atop the USA Today poll for the first time in school history.

"It felt like a dream come true. My heart dropped. I feel like we deserved it with all the work we put in at practice and stuff like that," guard Ciani Cryor said.

"It's like the best thing that has happened to me since I came to America," forward Felicia Aiyeotan said.

The undefeated Saints is a team like no other. They have two players from Nigeria - 6'9 junior Aiyeotan and 6'4 senior Christina Aborowa.

Neumann Goretti's starting lineup features four Division I college players and they have nine on their roster who are expected to play at the next level.

This team is built to win.

"We do have some unfinished business. Last year, we finished 29-1. We did win the Catholic League, we won District 12. That's our goal this year, to get back to the States," head coach Andrea Peterson said.

As special as this is to be the number one ranked team in the entire country, Neumann Goretti won't be satisfied until they win a state title. They came so close last year losing in the championship game.

This team hopes to finish the job this season.

"We have to finish what we started. We know what we did last year that was wrong and now we are coming back stronger this year together as a family," Aborowa said.

And this family is only getting stronger.

They've lost only once over the last two seasons - in that championship game.
