Sources say an extensive law enforcement investigation is underway at Conestoga High School after they got wind of hazing allegations.

BERWYN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Sources say an extensive law enforcement investigation is underway at Conestoga High School in Berwyn, with many members of the football team being interviewed. Sources say they first got wind of hazing allegations on Monday.

"I mean we've heard it's like football hazing," said Louis Conory, senior.

Word has been spreading around fast since detectives began inquiring about alleged hazing in the school's football program.

"It's some pretty crazy stuff involving seniors like doing some pretty not-so-cool things to the freshmen," said Conory.

The high school has a respectable football program that has had its successes. But now, it's clouded by disturbing allegations.

Sources say the first alleged incident dates back to last year's football season, which led to other allegations much earlier.

As many as 70 people are being interviewed to find out how widespread it was.

Sources say they are going to go back at least two years to learn how far back the alleged hazing goes.

Much of it is said to be your average hazing idiocy, but one incident is said to have left one person injured.

Authorities say there appears to have been a ritual theme about the hazing, and one student, who knows the boys involved, says they are really good guys.

"The thing here is that with the football team, they're boys in the locker room, you know, stupid things are gonna happen, but nothing to the degree that is going around," said Anna Koblish, senior.

Sources say they are working fast and furious, conducting interviews and trying to get to the bottom of the allegations.

Action News has been told there could be an announcement as early as next week.
